Kansas, Point Of Know Return Album Art

"The Point of Know Return's" 1977 album art is classic. It's a shame that album art is not a thing anymore. Instead, you have to settle for thumbnail art on Spotify and Apple Music. Part of the whole experience of music back then was seeing the album art and trying to figure out what it meant.

What a great marriage of cover art and the song, "The Point of Know Return's" meaning. A song about a man heading off to sea, wondering how far you go before there is no turning back. The cover reminds me of Christopher Columbus and the late 15th century. Considering that at that time, they weren't sure whether the world was flat or round. If you keep going, will you fall off the Earth? Great imagery.

The logo is excellent too. It "implies" the letters with shapes and colors. The shapes are even implied. Still, it's perfectly readable and understandable. That was not easy to pull off.

What makes this a great cover is the strength of the logo and the artwork itself. Both done by Peter Lloyd, according to Google AI, who in turn cites kansasband.com. Let me tell you, in 1977, there was no Photoshop. This was all done by hand. Nowadays, I am sure AI is involved in creating "Art" if that's what you want to call it. I'm old school. Peter Lloyd is a true artist.
